ePF Loop programmulti-purpose easy Pipe Friction with Loop Ring Main

Application example: Hydrant ring main system

System design: maximum 2 hydrants to operate at any one time

Hydrant flow rate: 38 l/s each

Minimum operating pressure at most remote hydrant: 2 bars

Hydrant pipe material: Ductile iron

Hydrant pipe diameter: nominal 200mm (main supply), 150mm (loop), 150mm (branch), 100mm (hydrant pillar)

 

Applied Working: Refer to the hydrant system schematic sketch below, calculate the total pressure drop (head loss) in the system when 2 hydrants are open (hydrant FH 3/5 & 4/5). 

 

Note: in the following schematic diagram, numbering 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 are pipes in series, while numbering 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110 are pipes in loop ring main.

 

In ePF Loop program, pressure drop in series pipe and looped pipe are calculated separately. The total pressure drop for the system is adding all components causing resistance to flow. You're in control the whole calculation experience.

Results Deliverable:
